Jr. Natalie Klemko sweeps at Ladies Night
Northbrook, Illinois -- August 27, 2005 -- The Ed Rudolph Northbrook Velodrome reached new heights by having twenty talented women track racers come out and race. Hot off winning gold at the Jr National Championship, Klemko pedaled away with the chariot, 10 lap scratch and the 30 lap points race sweeping the event.
This is Natalie’s second sweep at the velodrome in the heats of the month of August.Honorable mentions goes out to Illinois Criterium Champion Sarah Tillotson (Athletes by Design), velodrome points leader Francine Hass (Alberto Sports) and top Jr. Allyson Brunner who raced as well.
The total pursed reached over $750 of cash and merchandize. The highest payout was dolled out in the 30 lap point race, paying eight places deep.
A number of the women were extremely pleased with the revival of a night dedicated to them. The last time prizes were offered at a points race at the velodrome was summer 2003. It is the hope to the velodrome to continue growing the women fields.
